Fonds Cauris Croissance II (FCC II) is the third fund managed by the Cauris' team. With a capital of 39.4 billion CFA francs, FCC II is a generalist fund that takes minority or strong minority stakes in growing SMEs. It generally targets companies with a regional footprint, or a regional development strategy. Its geographic coverage is West Africa, mainly French-speaking countries, and outside of Nigeria which because of its size requires a specific strategy.

Cauris Investissement was established in 1995 on the initiative of BOAD (the West Africa Development Bank) and European DFIs as pilot fund to develop risk capital within the eight member states of the West Africa Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU): Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. After some initial difficulties, the fund has experienced a successful restructuring. It is now fully divested, with a 2.5 times net return investors.
